May 4 Class Hand-building Series Tuesday Evenings 7-9PM (IN OUR NEW LOCATION SUITE 234)
Beginner-friendly. All classes are hand-building and are held at my studio Trade Oak Cliff from 7-9Pm 1300 S Polk St. #234 (Enter 4 doors down from Oak Cliff Brewery).
The perfect fit for people wanting to learn about pottery as a hobby. We make multiple projects together and familiarize you with slab building techniques, tools, studio routines, glazing and more. Once you have done the series once, you are given a discount code for where you can join my advanced students and make however many projects you’d like each class. Can’t make a date? Email me about rescheduling options. Below is the itinerary for first time students:
Night 1: Tuesday, May 6th We will make handmade mug and one sample piece for under-glazing with a stoneware clay.
Night 2: Tuesday, May 13th: We will focus on texture and build larger terra cotta pots. You’ll get to learn about underglaze and paint your mug from the previous class if you’d like.
Night 3: Tuesday, May 20th : Speckled clay night! You will get to make 3-5 conceptual pieces. Bowls, incense burners, wall hangings +more.
Night 4: Tuesday, May 27th: Glazing night . We will review glazing rules and application techniques and paint our pieces from night 1 and 3. This evening we will look out our calendars and pick the day for pickup.
