Beginner-friendly. All classes are hand-building and are held at my studio Trade Oak Cliff  Wednesdays, July 2nd-23rd from 7-9PM at 1300 S Polk St. #234 (Enter 4 doors down from Oak Cliff Brewery). Taught by Corrie Pocta

The perfect fit for people wanting to learn about pottery as a hobby. We make multiple projects together and familiarize you with slab building techniques, tools, studio routines, glazing and more. Once you have done the series once, you are given a discount code for  where you can join me and my advanced students and make however many projects you’d like each class. Can’t make a date? Email me about rescheduling options.  Below is the itinerary for first time students: 

1st Night: Wednesday, July 2nd: We will make handmade mug and one sample piece for under-glazing with a stoneware clay.

2nd Night: Wednesday, July 9th: Speckled clay night! I will introduce you to molds and new studio tools. You will get to make 3-5 conceptual pieces. Bowls, incense burners, wall hangings +more.

3rd Night: Wednesday, July 16th: Under-glazing demo and then make what you’d like. You can split your time painting underglaze on pieces or making as 3-5 new pieces with either white clay or speckled clay.

Night 4:Wednesday, July 23rd : Glazing day! Bring a snack or drink to share. We will review glazing rules and application techniques and paint our pieces from night 1 and 3. This morning we will look out our calendars and pick the day for pickup.
